SDG interactions analysis in Zambia: climate action, one health and policy coherence

The Stockholm Environment Institute is supporting the Embassy of Ireland in Lusaka, Sustainable Food Systems Ireland (SFSI) and its partner Self Help Africa (SHA) to support Zambia’s efforts to transform the country’s food system towards sustainability through three priorities: Climate Action, One Health, and Policy Effectiveness and Coherence. Each of these priorities has indigenous knowledge and practices as a cross-cutting theme.

Active project

2024

Using SDG Synergies, SEI supports the identification of linkages, potential trade-offs and synergies, and coherence between policy priorities in Climate Action and One Health. This project aims to integrate diverse knowledge, primarily from indigenous knowledge and practices, into the evidence base supporting food systems and One Health decision-making processes. Similarly, this project aims to contribute to the identification of overlaps between actors and policy priorities in animal health and to the joint identification of existing coordination needs among One Health policy actors across the food systems, animal health and environment spectrum.
