Daniela Maestre is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America. Her work focuses on supporting the Centre’s research in the Sustainable Transitions team. Daniela has supported the Center’s work on the Sustainable Development Goals, using the SDG Synergies Tool to promote systems thinking in decision-making. Her areas of interest include political ecology in a broad sense: from environmental justice and environmental law to just transitions for energy and food systems.
Daniela combines her academic and professional background with a passion for collaborative and place-based approaches in rural planning to achieve more equitable and sustainable social orders. She holds an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Development Studies and a B.A. in Languages and Sociocultural Studies from the Universidad de Los Andes.
