Maria Sköld

Maria Sköld is a Senior Communications and Impact Officer at SEI Headquarters within the Project Communications and Impact division.

Her role is to advise on and lead communication processes that maximize impact, working primarily with the Strategic Policy Engagement for Oceans and Biodiversity and teams such as Water, Coasts and Ocean; Sanitation and Health; and The Swedish International Agricultural Network Initiative (SIANI).

Before joining SEI, Maria was a Senior Communication Manager at Stockholm International Water Institute and World Water Week. As an editor and strategist, she developed messaging and advocacy campaigns for different teams and international processes.

Maria has also worked as a project manager at the content agency Spoon, with major Swedish and international brands. She started her career as a journalist, reporting about Swedish politics as well as from Southeast Asia and Central America.

Maria has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Gothenburg and a master’s degree in Communication for Development from Malmö University.
