SEI operates in a complex environment, with presence and operations in different countries and field contexts. SEI has relatively high exposure to external risks, such as political shifts, currency fluctuations and changing funder conditions and priorities. Risks and uncertainty are inherent parts of the running of any organization. SEI therefore, at times, needs to take informed decisions that involve a higher degree of risk, to achieve our goals. For that reason, SEI also has a systematic approach to risk management
SEI’s Risk Management Policy and instruction establish a common language and global approach to risk identification. They describe our systematic annual process to identify, analyse, evaluate and communicate risks in all parts of SEI.
