Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) seeks to build a network of professionals in transitional finance who may contribute to ongoing and future projects at the Environmental Policy and Strategy (EPS) team at SEI. We invite interested candidates to submit their expressions of interest.
The environmental policy and strategy (EPS) team at SEI supports governments in demand-driven sustainable, environmental and climate transitions in the Western Balkans, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus while utilizing world-class science and policy expertise at SEI. EPS is a technical hands-on team handling complex projects in cooperation with local, international and Swedish actors. The team implements demand-driven initiatives and has a broad thematic approach, taking into account the specific needs of stakeholders. Activities include developing and implementing comprehensive environmental strategy and action plans, design and implementation support for national decarbonization efforts and capacity building and support for EU approximation processes in different candidate or potential candidate countries.
The diverse EPS team specializes in complex stakeholder dynamics management, with expertise in working in transitional countries at the local, regional and national levels.
One of the ongoing projects that potential experts might be invited to contribute to in the future is Green Agenda for Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia (GA GUMA). The project brings together different government actors from the target countries: Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, along with the SEI/international and national experts to deliver policy changes, make economies greener, improve environmental governance, stimulate investment, uptake innovative technologies, and create green jobs.
The main objective of the project is to assist Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia in reaching climate neutrality goals through green transition.

Within this expression of interest, SEI would like to identify pool of experts (team lead, international consultant, advisor for EU Climate Finance Policies, etc.) who might be interested in joining the EPS team to support the team members in ongoing projects such as GUMA and/or upcoming projects related to transitional finance.
The general responsibilities cover to assist the team in various area related to transitional finance, including but not limited to advising on how transitional finance is implemented on the EU level, developing methodologies/guidelines for different project outputs (assessment, reports, etc.) related to transitional finance part, providing recommendations on the topic and participating in different project team meetings.
Please note that sending an expression of interest does not bind SEI to award the contract. SEI does not commit to procuring any of the suppliers who will submit the application. Sending the expression of interest is voluntary, and any future procurement is not mandatory for SEI. The supplier agrees to these terms and conditions by sending an expression of interest.
