Maya Rebermark works at SEI Headquarters as Senior Expert in Climate Communications and Impact – Project Communications and Impact Division.
Her work focuses on leveraging scientific knowledge and communication within SEI’s mandate to catalyze systemic change, engage key partners, and empower colleagues and partners in tackling environmental challenges. This includes devising strategic communications to influence global climate transformation agendas, guided by qualitative and quantitative science. She leads communications for SEIs strategic policy engagement on climate and SEIs International Climate Risk and Adaptation team.
Prior to joining SEI, Maya worked as Communications Director for the Earth Commission and Engagement lead at the global science network Future Earth. Her work amplified learnings from Earth System Boundaries, Planetary Boundaries and the 10 New Insights in Climate Science synthesis to global decision-making audiences. She has over 15 years’ leadership experience in driving impact through creative communications from roles including Stockholm Resilience Centre, EAT Foundation, Stockholm International Water Institute, and the Guardian.
Maya has a bachelor’s degree (BA) in English Literature and Cultural Studies from Bath Spa University, a master’s degree (MSc) in Environmental Science and Decision-Making from Södertörn University and has certified leadership training from the Oxford Saïd Business School.
She is a member of the inaugural World Economic Forum initiative Earth Decides – a diverse community of experts and influencers who cultivate informed optimism among decision-makers in support of credible Earth-centered action.
