SEI’s research and engagement seek to accelerate renewable energy adoption in a just and equitable manner that maximizes social, environmental and development benefits while mitigating negative impacts.
SEI leverages our multidisciplinary expertise to conduct research, establish partnerships with local to international stakeholders, provide technical assistance, collaboratively strengthen capacities, and develop demonstration and proof-of-concept activities.
Our contributions span multiple domains. We analyse renewable energy policies and inform their design. We contribute to finance mobilization. We seek to improve livelihoods. We investigate renewable energy trade. We develop strategies for off-grid renewables, energy access, and household shifting from traditional biomass to advanced biofuels.
SEI delves into the on-the-ground realities that affect whether lasting renewable energy growth is possible. Explore SEI’s work on these issues and its recommendations on how to foster a just transition away from fossil fuels and toward sustainable energy for all.
