Michael Lathuillière is a Senior Research Fellow at SEI Headquarters and part of the Global Agendas, Climate and Systems Division.
He works on Trase’s soy supply chains in South America and develops new indicators for Trase’s supply chains. Michael’s previous research focused on the implications of soybean and cattle production options on the water cycle in Amazonia using both ecohydrology and supply chain impact assessment modelling. He has prior experience in product and river basin water footprint assessments, water and carbon flux measurements in agricultural systems and tropical wetlands, as life cycle assessments.
He holds a BSc (2002), MSc (2011), and Ph.D (2018) from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
Meet SEI / After beginning his career as an industrial chemist, the Kyoto Protocol inspired Michael to make a bigger impact. Now he works at SEI, tackling deforestation.
