Doug Chalmers is a Scientist with the Water Group in Seattle, WA. He works on water resources modeling and planning in California using WEAP. Doug joined SEI in August 2018.
Since joining SEI, Doug has helped build water allocation models using water rights data from the California State Water Resources Control Board. He has also been supporting the Santa Clara Valley Water District project to model the impact of reservoir operations on migratory fish habitat.
Prior to joining SEI, Doug worked at a national engineering consulting firm as a staff engineer designing stormwater management systems for utility sites. As an intern with an Oregon watershed council, he conducted interviews and held a focus group to develop local solutions towards low impact development implementation.
Doug attended Oregon State University for graduate school, earning an M.S. in Water Resources Engineering, a Minor in Water Resources Policy & Management, and a Graduate Certificate in Water Conflict Management & Transformation. He also holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
