Tim Suljada is Head of Division – Resources, Rights and Development at SEI Headquarters. His work focuses on addressing sustainability challenges through policy analysis, participatory engagement with decision-makers and by convening research and organizational change processes. He joined SEI in August 2015.

He has a background working in government, consultancy and international organizations in the fields of energy, climate and development. Immediately prior to joining SEI, Tim spent four years implementing international development projects in Vietnam and the Mekong region for multilateral partners, including the World Bank and Asian Development Bank, as well as working for the United Nations Development Programme. He has advised governments on urban low-carbon transition pathways, integrated assessments of the energy sector and climate change risks to infrastructure services. His professional background also includes policy and project work at various levels of Government in Australia since 2006, including at AusAID, where he managed overseas development assistance programs in energy, infrastructure and climate change across Asia and the Pacific.

Tim holds a Masters in International Relations from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sydney, where he specialized in environmental decision-making, publishing his honours thesis on process development for recycling of copper from scrap materials.
