Cynthia Sitati is a research associate at SEI Africa
She is an environmental researcher with work focusing on air pollution, climate change and urban development issues. Her interests include atmospheric pollution, GHG emissions inventories, air quality modeling, air quality measurement, and transport emissions. Cynthia has a keen interest in green mobility and innovation as ways of addressing the challenges of climate change. Her goal is to use research to inform policy and help humanity fight Air Pollution and climate change in her capacity as a researcher and make a significant contribution towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Prior to becoming a research associate, Cynthia served as an intern at SEI Africa for a year, supporting the Clean Air Engineering for homes in Korogocho slums of Nairobi, Dar-es-salaam Air Quality Baseline Study and the Africa Integrated Assessment of Air Pollution and Climate Change. Working on the Africa Integrated Assessment of Air Pollution and Climate Change as a member of the core coordination team has given her exposure (in terms of coordination, management, organization and communication) at an international level in which she is keen to develop and nurture her career in research.
Cynthia is very enthusiastic about environmental research, specifically, on atmospheric pollution, climate change and urban development because she strongly believes that she can create an impact through research based on evidence.
She has a BA in Urban and Regional Planning and an MSc in Climate Change Adaptation from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
