Nina Weitz is a Senior Research Fellow and Team Leader for the Global Goals and Systems team at SEI Headquarters.
The team she leads is thematically centred on systems thinking in decision-making and supporting implementation of global goals, objectives and principles for sustainable development, such as Agenda 2030.
She leads and executes projects focused on how policy and institutions can respond more effectively and in sustainable and just ways to the intertwined challenges that societies face. From 2018–2020, she managed SEI’s portfolio on Agenda 2030 implementation. In this area, her project experience includes analytical support to intergovernmental UN processes, methods and tools development for integrated decision-making, follow-up and review arrangements, and alignment of global and national agendas. Her fieldwork experience includes Western, Eastern and Southern Africa, South Asia and the Middle East.
She is a political scientist by training, with a MSc in International Administration and Global Governance, BA in Political Science and BA in Environmental Social Science focused on environmental politics.
