Dialogue on approaches to accelerate private sector engagement in Africa’s energy sector

SEI hosted this dialogue for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sida and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation, Norad to explore different approaches to accelerate private sector engagement in Africa’s energy sector.

SEI’s Daniel Duma, Carly Evaeus, Fiona Lambe, Björn Nykvist and Janet Vähämäki contributed with their expertise.

This dialogue provided an opportunity to share and reflect on how to accelerate private sector engagement in Africa’s energy sector. This included joint consultations with participants, and the objectives of the dialogue include:

  1. Reflections on Sida’s and Norad’s previous work on energy-related issues: approaches, instruments, processes and the potential for collaboration.
  2. Exploring what works well, what needs improvement and emerging trends.
  3. Gather feedback from stakeholders such as the private sector, academia and think tanks.

This dialogue was held by invitation only and under Chatham house rules.
