Kevin M. Adams was a Research Fellow at SEI from 2017–2021. His work focused primarily on global environmental governance including climate change adaptation, climate finance, and agricultural commodity trade.
At SEI, Kevin was highly engaged with Adaptation Without Borders, which was established in 2019 to facilitate multilateral cooperation for assessing and managing transboundary climate risks. Additionally, Kevin was a member of the Stockholm Sustainable Finance Centre, including serving as an advisor to the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for climate finance issues throughout 2020. Kevin was also highly engaged in the Mistra Geopolitics, Share or Spare, Global Adaptation Governance and PLACARD research projects.
Prior to joining SEI, Kevin worked as an independent contractor for several organizations, including the UNFCCC Secretariat in Bonn, Germany. He holds a MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Colorado and a BS in Geophysics and a BS in Social Sciences from Michigan State University. He left SEI to serve in the US Department of State as a Foreign Affairs Officer in the Office of Global Change and pursue a PhD at the London School of Economics.
