Yesica is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America. She provides technical and scientific support in projects related to planning and decision-making processes into water management.
She is a civil engineer and MSc in Hydraulic Resources and Environment from the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito. During her master, she worked on estimation of environmental flows in Colombian through holistic methodologies in the Upper Magdalena River Basin within the framework of the project “Sustainable Hydropower and Multipurpose Storage to meet Water, Food and Energy Development Goals (S-MULTISTOR)” supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
Before her current role, she worked for three years as a research assistant and laboratory professor at the Colombian School of Engineering Julio Garavito and then as a university professor at the Catholic University of Colombia. However, she always has been interested in research, design, development, and evaluation of projects related to the integral management of water resources and ecohydrology, with a special interest in the balance of conservation of freshwater ecosystems and economic development.
