William Babis

William Babis is an Associate Scientist at SEI US.

William is a tech entrepreneur turned climate data analyst. He has helped inform climate policy with data-driven research, economic analysis and geospatial processing. Prior to climate policy research, he was the co-founder and Chief Product Officer of an AI start-up, overseeing partnerships and innovation.

Currently at SEI US, William is developing a GPT-powered module for SEI researchers to process large sets of lengthy policy documents. This is part of a larger examination of how SEI can leverage AI for research.

William has an M.S. in Environmental Economics & Public Policy from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy as well as a B.S. in Computer Science from Boston College.
