Charles A. Young is a senior scientist with the Stockholm Environment Institute. He has over 30 years of professional and research experience in water management issues, including specific interests in river basin planning, groundwater modelling, crop growth simulations and rainfall-runoff hydrology. His recent experience includes managing the development of water allocation models for use in the California Water Action Plan (CWAP) in collaboration with the State Water Resources Control Board. Dr. Young also led the team that developed the Sacramento Water Allocation Model (SacWAM) for use in the Bay-Delta planning process.
He received his Ph.D. in biological and agricultural engineering from the University of California–Davis in 2004.
