Carly Evaeus is a Project Manager in SEI’s Finance for Sustainable Development Programme and is a member of the Development Policy and Finance Team in the Resources, Rights and Development Division at SEI Headquarters.
Most recently, Carly worked at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) for the department of Partnership and Innovation. During her three years there, Carly facilitated two private sector partnerships consisting of about 20 of Sweden’s largest institutional investors and 20 global Swedish companies. The partnerships, Swedish Investors for Sustainable Development and Swedish Leadership for Sustainable Development, gathered Swedish private sector actors around the Sustainable Development Goals with the aim to accelerate their work in various areas of sustainability through partnership and collaboration. An especially interesting result from the work Carly led at Sida was the formation of a working group consisting of Swedish investors, with a specific focus on how financial actors can tackle biodiversity issues.
Prior to Sida, Carly worked with topics such as Sustainable Finance at WWF Sweden, digitalization at the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SKR) and worked for many years with the Think tank Tällberg Foundation.
Carly has an academic background in international development and sustainability. She studied Social-Ecological Resilience for Sustainable Development under the master’s program at Stockholm Resilience Centre, and holds a BSc in Global Development from Stockholm University and Freie Universität Berlin.
