Camila Garcia

Research Assistant

Camila is a Research Assistant at SEI Latin America, working within our research line of inquiry on Water Management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in Hydraulics Resources from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and she has six (6) years of professional experience in hydroclimatology, climate change, and satellite information analysis.

She has implemented mathematical models for water management, hydrological prediction, and evaluating the responses to climate change scenarios. In the last few years, Camila has been working on disseminating water knowledge through teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and communities.

Prior to joining SEI, Camila worked at the Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales within the framework of the ENANDES project, Parques Nacionales Naturales de Colombia as a climate change professional and as a consultant for projects in universities and private companies in Colombia.

Currently, Camila is highly interested in researching the use and validation of remote sensing information as input for hydrological models, as well as issues related to the vulnerability and adaptation of ecosystems and people to climate variability and climate change.
