Anju Sharma is an SEI Affiliated Researcher at SEI Oxford.
She currently heads the Policy and Publications Unit of the European Capacity Building Initiative and is a non-executive Director of Oxford Climate Policy. She is also a Visiting Fellow at the International Institute for Environment and Development, and a Consultant with the International Institute for Sustainable Development’s Reporting Services.
In the past, Anju has worked with the Centre for Science and Environment in India, the UN Environment Programme in Kenya, and Oxfam GB in the UK. She has also worked as a Consultant for a number of organisations, including the Secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the UN Development Programme, Oxford University Centre for the Environment, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and has experience as a project manager, researcher, analyst, writer and editor. She has specific experience in policy and practice related to climate change adaptation and mitigation, natural resource management, rural development, gender, governance, civil society engagement, and capacity building. Anju is on the Board of Trustees of Keystone Foundation; and a Senior Advisor to the Forum for Law, Environment, Development and Governance.
She holds a BA in English (Honours) from Delhi University and a diploma in Journalism from the University of Westminster, London, with the Chevening Scholarship by the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office.
