Andrea Carlos-Carlos is an Associate Scientist with the Water Program in Davis, California. Andrea joined SEI in July 2024 and will assist with Sustainable Groundwater Management Act-related work in Yolo County, California, as well as the development of WEAP to inform the California Water Plan Update.
Prior to joining SEI, Andrea worked as a project engineer in the consulting industry where she performed environmental remediation efforts for sites dealing with soil and groundwater contamination in southern California.
Andrea obtained her M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on hydrology and water resources from the University of California (UC), Irvine in 2022. She also holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering and a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from UC Irvine. During her undergraduate and graduate education, she researched health co-benefits of different long-term, low-carbon scenarios in California and their distribution in the context of social vulnerability.
