The meeting comes just days after the Paris Agreement’s entry into force. Twenty SEI staff are participating in more than two dozen events: on climate, energy and sustainable supply chains.

On Monday, 7 November, just three days after the Paris Agreement’s entry into force, the Parties will meet again, this time in Marrakech, Morocco. For two weeks, they will discuss key aspects of how to implement the agreement, as well as how to enhance ambition and give countries the support they need to achieve the Paris goals.
Major topics to be discussed include climate finance, transparency and accountability, capacity-building and technology transfer, efforts to address loss and damage from climate change, and collaborative initiatives that engage the private sector and other non-state actors.
Twenty SEI staff are participating in events at the Marrakech Climate Change Conference (COP22) and related activities, including the Global Landscapes Forum. SEI is also co-hosting a wide range of events, on climate finance, fossil fuel supply, short-lived climate pollutants, low-carbon development pathways, the water-energy-food nexus, sustainable supply chains and other topics.
The Paris Agreement’s entry into force triggers the launch of its governing body, known as the CMA – the Conference of the Parties to the Convention serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement. Details of the first CMA meeting are available on the website of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
SEI will be posting blogs and web stories from the conference, and tweeting from events through @SEIclimate. Click on the menu items at left for listings of SEI-hosted COP events and related activities, relevant publications, news stories and opinion articles.
