Former employee
Annemarieke de Bruin was a researcher at SEI between 2009 and 2020 working on agricultural water management, monitoring and evaluation and participatory GIS.
Her work focused on the relationship between people and the environment, more specifically within the fields of water management, tree health management, and agricultural innovation.
For several years she oversaw the implementation of the strategy section of monitoring and institutional learning across SEI. This included the development of the monitoring and evaluation system ‘PMEC’ (planning, monitoring, evaluation and communication tool).
Annemarieke’s projects included PuRpOsE, in which researchers undertook a more-than-human approach to Acute Oak Decline and tree health management and the IKnowFood project in which she worked together with UK farmers and engineers in a social learning process around agricultural innovation.
Her work across Europe, Australia and Canada on water governance has led to insights on securitisation of water and the importance of adaptive and systemic governance. More information is available on the Climate Adaptation and Water Governance webpage.
