Jenniffer Pedraza

Research Associate

Jenniffer joins SEI York from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development in Colombia, where she was engaged in work on formulating and implementing the Air Quality and Short Lived Climate Pollutants national strategies. This involved working with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition.

She has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and her specialism was carbon capture, storage, and utilization in industry. She has further research experience in energy transition and decarbonization, emissions control, life cycle analysis and carbon footprinting.

At SEI York, she is developing a regional SLCP emissions inventory for the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region and health impacts assessments as part of the FOCI project. She is also working to support National Planning Actions to reduce SLCP emissions in LAC including methane mitigation roadmaps.

Jenniffer is a member of the Latin America Early Career Earth System Scientist Network which supports the work of Earth system scientists in the region. Read more about LAECESS in this 2022 issue of Nature: Climate and Atmospheric Science.
