Marcus Lindeberg Goñi

Marcus Lindeberg Goñi is a Research Associate at SEI HQ, Cities, Communities and Consumption Team, Societies, Climate and Policy Support Division. He works as an economist in the Viable Cities Finance project quantifying climate transition costs and benefits for cities.

Marcus has a strong passion for the just green transition. Before joining SEI, he worked as a political advisor on the Environment Committee of the European Parliament. There he partook in the negotiations of the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and the European Climate Law. He also has experience from management consulting in both the public and the private sector, teaching and from being a research assistant, often working on issues related to sustainability.

Marcus holds a MSc degree in Economics and Policy for Energy and the Environment from University College London and a BSc in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of economics. His Master’s thesis quantitatively studied the relationship between income inequality and environmental policy.
