Marcus Carson is a Senior Research Fellow and leads the Arctic Resilience Assessment.
Marcus has worked on issues linking science, policy and practice for some 35 years, and in diverse roles – as an advocate, a practitioner, a policymaker, a teacher and as a researcher.
He is particularly interested in how people, through organizations and institutions, organize and respond to pressing social and environmental problems, and has worked on issues that include health, integration, climate change and Arctic change.
Starting with a BA in Psychology in 1978, he earned his PhD in Sociology in 2004 from Stockholm University, where he also was awarded his Docenture.
Outside of work he is a runner, a sea kayaker, a musician, a husband and a father.
