Taylor Binnington is a Scientist with SEI’s Energy Modeling Program. He helps SEI’s partners connect data to planning in the energy sector and beyond by supporting their development and ownership of integrated energy systems models built to suit their specific planning needs. To do this, Taylor brings SEI’s energy modeling toolkit, LEAP and NEMO, together with expertise in mitigation assessments, optimization and econometric modeling, net-zero emissions pathways and stakeholder engagement. He is especially interested in electricity system modeling and grid integration of renewables. He also has experience working on US domestic climate advocacy and contributing to state-level Climate Action Plans.
Taylor holds an M.Sc. in Physical Geography from the University of Toronto, and an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Guelph. He first arrived at SEI in 2013.
