Laura Del Duca is a Policy Fellow at SEI Headquarters in Stockholm and part of the Rights and Equity Team in the Resources, Rights and Development Division.
A social scientist with a quantitative background, her research interests include gender and power in emergencies, environmental justice and disaster risk reduction, and at the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. She is part of SEI’s global Initiative on Gender Equality, Social Equity and Poverty.
She holds a master’s degree in gender and development (distinction) from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Italian studies from Smith College. Her master’s thesis discussed gender equality in the immediate humanitarian response to rapid-onset crises with displacement, focusing on the 2010 flooding in Pakistan.
