David Aikman

David Aikman is a Data Administrator at SEI Headquarters – Trase Team – Global Agendas, Climate and Systems Division.

He is coordinating the huge amounts of data used by the Trase project, which is an initiative to understand the environmental impact of various supply chains and make that information available to everyone. This data comes in a variety of forms from sources all over the world, so the need for consolidation and standardization is critical for Trase.

Prior to joining SEI, David was a data scientist for Public Health Scotland, leading their open data initiative. This involved building infrastructure to publish open access data (especially COVID-19 related data) and helping teams of analysts across Scotland develop datasets suitable for public consumption.

He has an MSc and BSc in Psychological Science from the University of Glasgow, writing his theses on issues of measurement and statistical methodology.
