Kuntum Melati is a Research Fellow with SEI Asia. She joined SEI in March 2020. She is part of the Policy Cluster and focuses her work on building partnership and collaboration in achieving SDGs, especially on the topic of Sustainable Food Systems, Circular Economy, and Natural Resource Management. Kuntum has published various policy briefs such as “Circular Bio-Economy and Innovative Urban Food System Management to Promote Food Security and Climate Resilience”, “Sustainable Value Chains Food System and Agriculture”, and “Barriers and Drivers for Enterprises to transition to Circular Economy”.
She brings 10 years of experience in development in Southeast Asia and internationally, having taken on various roles from research, facilitation and program management. She has been working with donor and partners to strengthen the agency of smallholders and SMEs through various projects such as Climate Entrepreneurship in South East Asia , Green Recovery framework, Just and Inclusive Food Systems, and various projects on accelerating circular economy through actionable and impactful research.
Kuntum holds an MA in Gender and Peace Building from the UN University for Peace and an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh.
